Named after Frank Sinatra's beloved mother, Natalina pays homage to the rich culinary heritage of Italy while infusing it with a modern twist. Led by Chef Stefano La Penna, our team is dedicated to crafting authentic Italian dishes that evoke nostalgia and delight the senses. With every plate, we invite you to savour the centuries-old recipes of Rome, meticulously prepared using the finest produce and skilled expertise.

A Culinarian with a World of Experience

Meet Chef Stefano

Behind the exquisite culinary experience of Natalina are chefs who have heart and dedication. Meet Chef Stefano Maria La Penna, fondly known as Chef Stefano to us, who has journeyed to Malaysia from a career in Monte Carlo, Monaco in a bid to give our guests a true Italian feast. 

During his childhood, Chef Stefano spent time admiring his grandmother’s love for cooking, which later ignited his passion for food. With his burning dedication to make a mark in the culinary world, he embarked on a journey which began in the academic school of Niko Romito, a three-michelin star chef, in Castel di Sangro, Italy. From there, he learnt from the kitchens of restaurants in Castel di Sangro, Rome, and Milan, as well as ventured to the mountains of France by the likes of Chamonix, Meribel, Valmorel, and Mont Blanc. His first experiences included working in Club Mediterranean, a luxury club where he discovered French and Caribbean cooking cultures. 

Chef Stefano has come a long way, having also moved to San Salvador in the Bahamas to push his culinary knowledge to greater heights, believing that every wrong step he’s made has moulded him into who he is presently. 

Today, he graces the kitchen of Natalina as our Head Chef, where he works with an exemplary crew, led by our Group Executive Chef Diego Reali.
